Today Grammy and Granpa treated Belen to a trip to the Oregon Zoo! Mommy and Aunty Miranda got to come along, too. Belen had a great time pointing to all the animals, speaking to them in their own language, she was so excited. She loved the Otters and the Polar Bears the most.
Underwater portion of the Otter Exhibit.
She perked up a bit when we went to the Bat exhibit, as well but the Dinosaurs really scared her, poor thing. She wanted to stay close to mommy until we were clear of the super loud
T-rex especially.
Me with a timid Belen, Grammy and Aunty Miranda with the stroller.
We visited several exhibits before stopping for lunch just in time for the Birds of Prey show at 2 p.m. It was really neat, you sit in an amphitheater and these huge birds with up to 7 ft. wingspans fly over your head! After lunch we went on a dinosaur "thrill ride." It's a 3-D movie you watch but it feels like you are a part of the action because the seats all move. It was really fun! Belen had to stay outside with Grammy and Granpa while Aunty Miranda and I went to watch the 10 minute movie/ride. When we came out we found out the Belen, in her zero nap stupor was becoming quite silly and ran away from Grammy laughing all the way! Unfortunately there are no pictures but I'd imagine watching my mom try to catch Belen as she's running away laughing and squealing...pretty funny!

Washington Park & Zoo Railway train!
A tired Belen ready to go home.
Belen loves animals so much that she decided to bring home a baby hippo and a baby giraffe! The hippo, after becoming quite close to Belen on the drive home decided to become Olive's (Aunty Miranda's new puppy) new play thing. Belen was very sad but giraffe continues to be quite loyal.
