Huh?

Life is just a bit ....interesting sometimes. Full of contradictions and challenges with a few moments of sweetness and giggles sprinkled on top.

I'd like a bit more sweetness and giggles.
Like the day at the beach we had a few weeks ago. A post for another day perhaps.
Yesterday a call came.
A call I wasn't really expecting.
A call that I thought I wanted, until it came.

Belen got into school.
After two months on the waiting list.

I have to admit that despite how exhausting it has been for me
to plan, prepare and teach Belen at home,
I wanted to do it.

Am I ready to let her go?
No way!
Will I anyway?
Yes.

This means a lot of changes for our family.
We are a bit free-spirited.
Mornings are not my favorite so I try to avoid them as much as possible (or until the kids wake me up at 7:30). We have structured times for meals and sleep but aside from that we do what we feel like doing, when we feel like doing it. That will change, Monday.

Belen sucks her thumb when she's tired or upset.
The school informed us that they will not allow thumb-sucking at school.  Period.
That makes me nervous.
Will she be okay?
Will she find other ways to cope?
Probably, but it will be hard.
She's done it all her life.

So for today, our last Friday afternoon together. Belen sits on my lap, coloring while Camden is napping.

Tears are welling up in my eyes.
I'm going to miss her.

You can do it!! I had a hard time whenever my kids started or went back to school. But it will be good for everyone - we need the growth! Caleb sucked his thumb up until he started pre-K and we had to break him of it because of the school's policy as well. If you want any tips on how we accomplished it let me know. :)

Good luck to all of you!
