Earlier this month we took our first California road trip to the BEACH!!! I LOVE Manhattan Beach! It's a busy beach but very family friendly. I have to say that I love sitting on the beach and reading in the sun, feeling the ocean breeze on my face...but we were just too darn preoccupied by the surf wondering how warm the water really is down here in California! Growing up in Washington, my only previous experience at the beach involve the frigid water and biting wind, not to mention often overcast skies and run-down beach towns of southwest Washington and Oregon! Yes, I would OFTEN brave the perpetual 40 degree water and swim and body-surf until my muscles became stiff and my lips turned blue. Hey, thats what Northwesterners do! Manhattan Beach, on the other hand lives up to my California day-dreams. The town itself has beautiful beach homes, narrow streets and lots and lots of great stores to shop in. The people we met and passed on the beach as well as on the streets were all very friendly and the water felt WONDERFUL! Here are a few pictures of our day.
