So much for keeping up with the kickstart. FYI, I did complete the kickstart and the majority of the meals I am making for my family come from NutritionMD.org. It is where most of the Kickstart recipes come from and boy they are nummy. In fact, today we had Carrot and Red Pepper soup and Couscous Confetti Salad again. A family favorite.
Doing the Kickstart reminded my how much of love love LOVE flavorful, healthy foods. Sure, cooking I'll do but not for the joy of cooking, only for the joy of eating really good food. So, in that respect I've been inspired.

Just after Christmas Belen had the opportunity to transfer to a school in our neighborhood.
She did and she LOVES it.
Immediately all the problems she'd been having at the old school GONE.
The sad, defiant little girl GONE.
Happy, fun-loving, out-going.
"She made INSTANT friends with everyone" her new teacher said.
My heart soared!
This is the Belen I know. I'm so happy to see her again.
Yet:
We will be moving in just a couple of short weeks.
I'm excited for the adventure but hope it is the last.
We are once again moving to a city where we know no one.
We've never even visited.
That makes me nervous.
I want to love it.
I want to make a home.

Belen has her first crush.
"He's sooo cute!" She tells me, all dreamy-eyed
She also tells me that when we move he will come with us.
Then she and her crush will get married and buy their own house with money they get from the grocery store.
I think it's adorable.
